Health Concepts on Blackboard

My inspiration to become a dental hygienist began at a young age. As a child I had very crooked teeth and my nick name was “Bucky Beaver”.

My parents could not afford braces for me, so I got a job when I was seventeen and asked an orthodontist to help give me straighter teeth. I wore full brackets for two years; every time I went in for my adjustments, I thought, what a great job he has!

The plan to become a dental assistant was made, and I worked towards that goal. When I was completing the dental assistant program, my instructors encouraged me to apply for the dental hygiene program, and the rest is history. I love my job and look forward to going to work every day.
